About Haverfordwest Cricket Club

Welcome to Haverfordwest Cricket Club – The Oldest Cricket Club in Wales

Founded in 1824, Haverfordwest Cricket Club holds the prestigious title of the oldest cricket club still active in Wales. Our storied history is woven into the very fabric of Welsh cricket, and for two centuries we have been a cornerstone of our community, fostering a love for the sport and creating lasting memories for players and supporters alike.

Our History

The origins of Haverfordwest Cricket Club trace back to a small group of cricket enthusiasts who came together in 1824 with a shared passion for the game. Over the years, the club has grown from these humble beginnings to become a prominent institution in Welsh cricket.

  • 1839: The club acquired its first official ground at the Old Race Course, marking a significant milestone in our history.
  • 1977: Our current clubhouse was opened, providing a modern and welcoming space for players and supporters to gather.
  • 2024: We proudly celebrated our bicentennial year, a testament to our enduring legacy.

Throughout our history, Haverfordwest Cricket Club has been more than just a place to play cricket. It has been a community hub, a place where generations have come together to share their love of sport and build lifelong friendships.
